Lie of the Day:
So I caught Ebola. Decided to turn my life around and be more friendly. Tomorrow I plan to meet new people, shake some hands.
Settling
Today I watched the sun set
On fractured glass and vacant hopes
Torn apart by the egos of altars
Of spilt wine and broken promises.
Today I watched the sun set
On a flag raising raggedly
Against a bruised twilight
Of reds, blues, and white welts.
Today I watched the sun set
On a forgotten, tattered page
Worn, adorned with words forgotten
By the fingers and minds of man.
Today I watched the sun set
On feet marching to a lonely drum
Lost amid a calamitous orchestra
Of carefully contradicted conformity
Today I watched the sun set
On the age of rational discourse
Replaced by screens sweaty with sarcasm
And opinions on opinions of opinions
Today I watched the sun set
And I can only wonder
What might be left to light
When it rises again tomorrow?
